IVF is a procedure involving the stimulation of multiple ovarian follicles using gonadotropins. These follicles are then retrieved at the appropriate time. After fertilization in the lab, the subsequent embryos are transferred into the uterus where implantation can occur. This process bypasses the fallopian tubes and increases pregnancy rates. ICSI is used when there are problems with low sperm counts. Individual sperm are injected inside the egg.
Intrauterine Insemination - IUI
The insemination is a relatively simple procedure similar to obtaining a Pap smear, which can be accomplished in the clinic without anesthesia. A small plastic catheter (tube) is used to insert the specimen into the uterine cavity through the cervix. This can be done using sperm from the woman's partner or with donor sperm.
Donor Sperm, Donor Eggs, and Embryo Adoption (Donor Embryos)
Using donor can offes excellent chances of a successful pregnancy for women who are struggling with infertility and are not getting pregnant. We can help navigate the process of obtaining donor sperm or matching with an egg donor. When other therapies are not successful, even when IVF didn't work, the California Conceptions program is a donated embryo program (embryo adoption) that offers excellent success rates at a lower cost than using a traditional egg donor.
All donors are thoroughly screened for infectious diseases, inherited disorders, and psychological disorders, in addition to meeting all state and federal regulations.
